This year’s Wags and Whiskers Gala was a smashing success, all thanks to you! We hope you enjoyed celebrating the mission of the Virginia Beach SPCA at our Sunset Speakeasy as you met adoptable animals, enjoyed fabulous food and drinks, tried your hand at casino games and the ring toss, and danced the night away.
The best part is, we raised over $300,000 for the animals! We offer our heartfelt gratitude to you and the rest of the nearly 450 animal lovers who came out in support of the VBSPCA. Whether you sponsored the event, helped to plan it, volunteered, worked, or attended as a guest, you are an important part of making second chances possible for homeless animals. Your generosity is greatly appreciated by all of us at the VBSPCA – on two legs and four!
What began in 1989 as a local celebrity and pet fashion show, the Wags & Whiskers Gala has evolved to become one of our most impactful fundraising events and a true celebration for the animals. In 2023, the gala raised more than $340,000, which directly supports our mission of eliminating animal suffering while increasing human compassion. Our mission is achieved through animal sheltering and enrichment, veterinary care, spay and neuter initiatives, and humane education programs.
