Whether you are visiting our shelter, clinic, or another VBSPCA facility, we want your experience to be safe, respectful, and positive. A calm environment also helps reduce stress for the animals in our care and those visiting with their families.

During your visit, please help us by following these guidelines:

• Be kind and courteous. We ask that all guests and clients treat our team members, volunteers, and one another with respect. Threatening, abusive, aggressive, or disruptive behavior is not permitted.
• Keep voices and noise levels low. Loud noises, yelling, or shouting can be stressful for animals and disruptive to others receiving services.
• Please walk while inside our facilities. This helps keep guests, clients, team members, and animals safe.
• Give animals their space. Please do not put fingers into kennels, tap on glass, reach into animal enclosures, or approach another guest’s animal without permission.
• Please follow the direction of our team. Do not open kennels, cat cabins, animal enclosures, gates, treatment areas, or restricted doors without assistance from a VBSPCA team member.
• Keep children close. Guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian throughout their visit.
• Help us maintain a safe environment. Firearms and other weapons are not permitted on VBSPCA property.
• The VBSPCA is smoke- and vape-free. Smoking and vaping are not permitted in the facility.

Guests or clients who engage in threatening, aggressive, abusive, or unsafe behavior, or who do not follow these guidelines, may be asked to leave the property and may have access to VBSPCA facilities or services restricted.
