Low Cost Veterinary Clinic

The VBSPCA Clinic is currently undergoing a major renovation.
Please pardon our dust and click here to learn more.

The VBSPCA Clinic offers low cost veterinary services to households with annual incomes of less than $65,000; active duty military members, reservists, and their dependents; and first responders. Our walk-in vaccine clinics and spay/neuter services are available to the community regardless of income.  Visit our Vaccine Clinics and Spay/Neuter Services pages to learn more about those offerings.

Clinic Services and Pricing

Proof of Income
All clients, with the exception of vaccine clinic clients; spay/neuter clients; active duty military members, reservists, and their dependents; and first responders will be asked to provide proof of income by presenting their most recent tax return form before services are delivered. If you are unable to present a tax return form, or if your income has significantly changed since your most recent filing, please bring in an alternative form of government documentation.

Scheduling an Appointment
Because of the overpopulation of pets, our clinic only serves animals who have been spayed or neutered, or who have a pre-paid appointment to be altered. To schedule an appointment, you complete the form at the bottom of the page. You can also contact our clinic message line at (757) 427-0070, option 2 (please provide a valid daytime number). Due to the volume of calls received, it may be 24 hours (or more on the weekend) before your call is returned. If you feel that your pet needs to be seen sooner, or if you have an animal related emergency, please seek medical attention at an emergency pet hospital or clinic.

Download our pre-appointment paperwork here. This form must be completed and returned to the VBSPCA Clinic either by email at Questionnaire@vbspca.com or in person at time of patient drop off.

Cancellation Policy
All appointments must be canceled 24 hours prior to the scheduled check-in time.

Late Cancellation Fee: $15.00
No-Show Fee: $25.00

All fees must be paid prior to rescheduling, or receiving future services.

Vaccines and Heartworm Tests
If your pet is due for vaccines and/or a heartworm test only (meaning that you have no illness concerns), consider attending a walk-in vaccine clinic. Vaccine Clinics do not require an appointment and have a lower exam fee. View our Vaccine Clinics Page for more information.

Laser Treatments
The VBSPCA Clinic now offers laser treatments, which help reduce inflammation, decrease pain, and improve healing. Laser treatments can be of great benefit to a number of medical conditions while also helping speed up the recovery process for animals who have undergone surgery. This is an innovative technology that will be of great benefit to both the animals in our shelter as well as public pets!

Care Credit
Whether it’s a routine checkup or emergency surgery, you shouldn’t have to worry about how to get the best medical care for your pet. That’s why we’re pleased to accept the CareCredit healthcare credit card. Learn more here.
