Public Policies
Visitor Conduct Policy
We expect all shelter visitors to practice respect and compassion toward fellow adopters and shelter staff at all times on VBSPCA property. We reserve the right to deny service to anyone who does not adhere to these guidelines.
Vehicle Safety Policy
For the safety of your pet, we do not allow pets to be left unattended inside a vehicle while on VBSPCA property. Cars heat up very quickly and become extremely dangerous for animals who are left alone.
While many vehicles have a remote start option that regulates the air temperature inside the car, it will still shut off after a certain amount of time.
All pre-adoption dog-to-dog introductions will be scheduled after your adoption application is filed, so please do not leave your pet in the car or bring them for unscheduled visits to the shelter.
The safety of animals is our top priority, so we thank you for your cooperation!
