Compassion in the Community — February

The month of February brings reminders of love, and who better to receive love than animals who need a home. Here are some easy ways to tap in to the theme of the month and spread some extra TLC to animals of the VBSPCA.

Whole Foods – All month long

Bring your reusable bags to Whole Foods during the month of February, and the VBSPCA will receive 5 cents for every bag you use! This helps both the animals in our shelter and the wild animals who will benefit from less plastic bags out there in the world.

Broken Hearts Club – All month long

During the month of February, the VBSPCA is shedding light on a heartworm disease, a common condition seen in shelters across the country — especially in the South. Treating heartworm disease is possible but costly, and we are fundraising for animals in our shelter who are in need of treatment. Your support will not only help these homeless animals heal, but you will also lessen the financial burden on potential adopters making it more likely that these special animals will find a home. Bernadette Peters — Feb. 20

Award-winning actress and singer Bernadette Peters will be performing at the Sandler Center on February 20th! If you would like to attend, you can receive $10 off your ticket by simply bringing an item from the VBSPCA wish list to the Sandler Center box office. This is a great opportunity to get a deal on tickets while also helping out a great cause. Click here to check out our wish list for ideas on what to bring.

World of Pets Expo — Feb. 21-23

The World of Pets Expo will feature a full retail space with a variety of different VBSPCA tested and approved products that you can take home for your pets! There will also be many different demonstrations and workshops at the event, so come join us for some educational fun. Click here to buy tickets!

PetSmart National Adoption Weekend — Feb. 29- March 1

We will have VBSPCA volunteers at the Dam Neck and Pembroke locations with adoptable animals looking for their forever homes. Stop by to meet them and see if they would make a good fit for your family.
