VBSPCA Needs Help to Make Puttin’ For Paws a Success After Reschedule

On Friday, Sept. 28, just one week before golfers were planning to hit the course for the benefit of the animals of the VBSPCA, we got word that the golf course would be closing permanently and immediately. In a whirlwind of an afternoon, plans were changed and logistics were revisited, and we landed on a new date at Heron Ridge golf course later in October.

While we have successfully secured a new location, the date change has proven to be an issue for some of the golfers. Due to conflicts with some of the players schedules and the new date, golfers have been forced to withdraw from the event, meaning that budgeting goals may not be met if more teams do not sign up.

We are asking for support from the community in hopes of making Puttin for Paws a success! We are looking to secure beverage sponsors, food sponsors, and – yes- golfers, and any and all support will help the organization continue to be a vital resource for animal welfare in the Virginia Beach community. We’ve only got a couple weeks, so please help spread the word. If you are interested in golfing in the event or supporting the event, please visit vbspca.com/golf or email events@vbspca.com

The updated date for the Puttin’ For Paws charity golf tournament is Oct. 18 at the Heron Ridge golf course. Puttin’ For Paws is one of the organization’s signature events and this is the eighteenth year that the event has been offered to the community. Each year, VBSPCA signature events bring in hundreds of thousands of dollars to the shelter and directly impacts the animals housed there.
