Sarah Golden, transplanted to Hampton Roads in 1989 but is originally from Detroit Michigan where she grew up doing gymnastics and then pursued a career in modern dance until she was in her mid 20s. She then returned to school and earned her computer engineering degree from ODU. Sarah is President and one of the principal owners of The GBS Group (GBS), an engineering services company headquartered in Virginia Beach serving customers in the Department of Defense, commercial Maritime, and Rail & Transportation industries. Outside of GBS, Sarah supports the ODU Batten College of Engineering and Technology, Samaritan House, a non profit organization in our area providing support and services to victims of domestic violence and human trafficking, and enjoys being a mentor to young female college students at ODU as part of the Women’s Initiative Network. But what makes her most happy, outside of being mom to sons Samuel and Aaron, and family dog Frankie, is when she puts on her dancing shoes and spends time in the studio with partner and teacher Brent Dunn. Sarah is delighted to have the opportunity to be dancing this evening and supporting such a wonderful organization as the VBSPCA.
