Virginia Beach SPCA Recognized Nationally as Top 10 Emergency Placement Partner of 2014!
The VBSPCA has been named by the Humane Society of the United States as a Top 10 Emergency Placement Partner for the 2nd time.
The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) announced its top ten Emergency Placement Partners in 2014, and the Virginia Beach Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (VBSPCA) has been added to the list again this year! Emergency Placement Partners are local animal agencies that work with the HSUS to provide ongoing care and find permanent homes for animals saved during large-scale rescue missions. The HSUS has nearly 300 placement partners nationwide.
After The HSUS rescues animals from natural disasters, puppy mills, and extreme neglect and provides them the veterinary and other care they immediately need, the organization works with Emergency Placement Partners to help in the animals long-term recovery and placement. As groups with access to local resources, these organizations supply the animals with continued veterinary care, rehabilitation and ultimately, placement in loving homes. The HSUS has donated to the top ten Placement Partners as a thank you for their dedication to helping rescued animals recover and find loving homes.
“We are honored to be chosen as a safe haven for animals with the greatest need. It brings us great joy to heal them, love them and find them new homes,” says Cat Lett Walker, Animal Health & Wellness Specialist of the VBSPCA.
