Membership FAQ’s

How do I become a member?
All you have to do is complete the online donation form and select whether you want your gift to be a recurring donation or a one time donation. Once the process is complete, we will mail you a membership card along with an acknowledgment letter providing documentation of your donation.

Once I’ve made an online gift, how can I make changes to my account? 
No problem at all! Just call our Development Offices at 757-427-0070 ext. 142.

If I need to cancel my membership, how do I do that?
All you have to do is call our Development Offices at 757-427-0070 ext. 142.

Will I receive verification of my donations for tax purposes?
Once your membership has been activated, you will receive an acknowledgement letter providing documentation of your donation. If you opted for a recurring donation, you will receive acknowledgement letters each time a payment is made. An itemized receipt at the end of the year is available upon request.

When will my credit card first be charged?
Your first online gift will be charged to your card on the date that your transaction is made. All subsequent charges will take place based on the preferences you choose, either on the 1st, or the 15th of each month. If you have any questions regarding the future dates of charges, please call 757-427-0070 ext, 142.

Am I automatically renewed?
Yes. Your membership will be automatically renewed each year but you can cancel at any time.

How do I get my benefits? 
Once you have made your first payment, you will receive a membership card in the mail which gives you access to discounts on in-store purchases. Please allow 30 days to receive your card. Your will also begin receiving our member newsletter, which gives you direct access to member only pricing on signature events, invitations to member only events, and more.

How do I get my exclusive member T-shirt?
All Members will be able to pick up their Member T-Shirt at the VBSPCA shelter. You will receive a coupon for your shirt in your official membership letter.
