Meet VBSPCA Board Member Amy Franklin Harrington

Some people have no problem rolling up their sleeves and jumping in to help wherever they can. Amy Franklin Harrington, the newest addition to the Virginia Beach SPCA’s Board of Directors, is one of those people. It’s somewhat of a family tradition.

Harrington is the executive director of the Franklin Family Foundation, an organization that stemmed from her family’s business, the Franklin Johnston Group. After serving as a board member for the Norfolk SPCA, she decided to lend her time and talents to the VBSPCA with encouragement from current VBSPCA Board Member, Scott Taylor.

“My parents are extremely generous,” says Harrington. “We all learned from them to leave the world a better place.”

Additionally, Harrington is a board member for Norfolk CASA and is involved with the CHAS foundation and CHKD. From fundraising to cleaning dog kennels, she is excited to be part of the VBSPCA mission because of her passion for saving the lives of homeless animals.

Much like her parents, Harrington is quick to encourage others to help organizations like the VBSPCA. Her message to the community: “Donate money or supplies, volunteer, and spread the word!”

We are happy to welcome Harrington to the VBSPCA Board of Directors. It takes involvement from caring people in our community to make a difference in the lives of homeless animals!
