Compassion in the Community | September
Fall is almost here, and what better way to celebrate the season than to fall in love with the animals of the VBSPCA. This September you can support all of our shelter animals through a number of fun community events, including a special Doggie Brunch at Wasserhound and a fun open house at the Indian River YMCA. You can even take part in the furbaby-friendly festivities like Pet Expo and Neptune Fest. There’s lots to do, and we look forward to seeing you around!
Saturday, September 7th – Rescue Doggy Day
The Virginia Beach Surf and Rescue Museum is hosting a Doggy Day on Saturday, Sept. 7th from 10am to 2pm. Stop by with your furbaby and check out some of the amazing pet supplies the VBSPCA has available and more!
Saturday, September 7th – PetValu’s 1st Birthday
Come celebrate 1 year at PetValu located at 737 First Colonial Road from 12pm-3pm and meet some adoptable pups from the VBSPCA!
Saturday, Sept. 14th & Sunday, Sept. 15th – Petsmart’s National Adoption Weekend
Stop by Petsmart at either Landstown or Pembroke and meet adorable adoptable animals! Adoptable dogs from the VBSPCA will also be visiting on Saturday and Sunday between 12pm and 2pm. See you then!
Sunday, September 15th – Doggie Brunch at Wasserhound
Who do you think likes pizza more – you or your dog? Well, we have delicious news for the both of you! Wasserhound Brewing Company is hosting a special VBSPCA Doggie Brunch on Sunday, Sept. 15th from 12pm-3pm. There will be a special doggie menu available, and VBSPCA members receive 10% off! Saturday, September 21st – VB Pet Expo
Bring your best friend to the fabulous, furbaby-friendly VB Pet Expo, returning to the Virginia Beach Convention Center located at 1000 19th Street from 10am to 6pm. There will be awesome exhibitors with the latest and greatest in pet products and services, including the VBSPCA! Click here for more information.
Saturday, September 21st – YMCA Open House: Bring a Friend, Adopt a Friend
Come join us for a day of fun and experience what the Indian River Family YMCA has to offer! And – you get to meet some furry friends. This event is free and open to the public. Members who bring guests will receive a Y-gift, and adoptable animals from the VBSPCA will be present from 10am-1pm! Friday, September 27th – Sunday, September 29th – Neptune Festival

All Year Long – Sustainable Support
Give animals a second chance at finding forever homes of their own when you shop at Second Chance Thrift on Shore Drive, where a portion of all proceeds are donated to the VBSPCA!
Help homeless animals anytime you buy groceries at Kroger! Simply sign up, swipe your Plus Card when you shop, and a portion of the sale will be donated back to the VBSPCA! Sign up to participate here.

In solidarity with our two legged and four-legged community, VBStrong T-shirts and tanks are available at the VBSPCA main shelter, 3040 Holland Road, and the VBSPCA Pet Supplies & Adoption Center, 983 Providence Square Shopping Center. 100% of the proceeds will go to families of those who were lost on May 31st.
