Compassion in the Community | July 2021

Summer has arrived, and there are several fun ways to help the homeless animals of the Virginia Beach SPCA this month. Read on to learn more about a couple of youth summer challenges to keep your kids busy while they’re out of school, your chance to party with the animals, and how just picking up the phone will benefit the VBSPCA.

Kindness Rocks – All Month Long
We’re making it easy to spread some kindness and compassion with a kid-friendly art activity. Paint a rock with a kind message, then leave it somewhere for people in our community to see. Let’s show everyone that kindness rocks! Click here to learn more about this month’s Humane Education Activity.

Change for Change Youth Coin Challenge – Pick Up a Canister Now
We still have a few canisters left for our Change for Change Youth Coin Challenge. Stop by the shelter and pick up a canister so your child can collect change for the animals all summer long. Return the canister to the shelter by August 1st for a chance to win a VBSPCA Swag Bag. Click here for more details.

Party for the Animals – Tickets on Sale Soon
Mark your calendars for the first ever Party for the Animals on September 19th! The festivities will take place at the Outdoor Oasis at The Shack on 8th. Join us for food, music, games, and adoptable animals. Proceeds will benefit the animals of the VBSPCA. Check back soon for ticket information.

Quotes for Good – All Month Long
A simple phone call could save you money and raise money for the VBSPCA! All you have to do is call Lee Hudson State Farm for a free quote and they will donate $10 to our animals. To participate, call (757) 383-6686.

Barks & Brews – July 13th

Summer Santa Dog Extravaganza – July 21st
Stop by CP Shuckers on July 21st from 3-7pm to celebrate Christmas in July, and don’t forget to bring a gift for the animals of the VBSPCA! Pups are allowed on the patio, so bring your pet and get a free photo with Santa with any donation such as pet food, treats, blankets, or beds. The event also features specialty dog-themed cocktails, a pooch friendly snack menu, and complimentary swag.
