We welcomed a large transfer of puppies last night, and in order to accomodate all of the residents we will be closing the shelter at 3:00 PM on Friday, April 20th. We may be opening late tomorrow so check back in the morning for updates on our hours of operation.

There is still time to pledge for the puppies and kittens at the VBSPCA!
Virginia Beach, VA –The Virginia Beach Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (VBSPCA) wrapped up its Annual Phone-a-Thon last night earning a total of $56,484.50 in pledges. After 15 hours and 13,000 calls to past supporters and adopters, the VBSPCA staff and volunteers want to assure everyone that there is still time to pledge your support for the puppies and kittens (and all our animals)!
Fettuccini and Lasagna (pictured above) were eager to lend a paw for the cause this past week at the VBSPCA, located at 3040 Holland Road in Virginia Beach. The VBSPCA, a non-profit organization supported entirely by community donations, relies heavily on large-scale fundraising events, such as the Annual Phone-a-Thon, to meet the basic needs of the over 4,000 orphaned animals in its care each year.
It is the mission of the VBSPCA to create a more humane and responsible community by decreasing our tolerance for cruelty while increasing our capacity for compassion. To make a pledge to the Virginia Beach SPCA, visit http://vbspca.com/pat or call 757 427 0070, extension 142.
