The Neuter Scooter 2013 Schedule and Appointment Information
On "Spay Day" in February 2007, the VBSPCA launched the mobile veterinary clinic named the Neuter Scooter, or the "scooter"as it is fondly called. It was purchased with the objective of providing low-cost veterinary services to pet owners in the community who otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford the necessary care their animals require. As the name implies, the Neuter Scooter was designed to focus primarily on spaying and neutering animals in order to continue preventing the overpopulation of felines and canines.
We are thrilled to report that the Neuter Scooter has far surpassed our expectations! It is because of the high-demand that we have purchased the Neuter Scooter 2.0 which will work with the original Neuter Scooter providing spays and neuters to animals throughout the Greater Hampton Roads Area.
“It is a magnificent feeling,” says Dana Goheen, who has played a key role in ensuring the scooter’s success. “The pet owners are grateful and appreciative of the services we bring to them.” In addition to being a mobile vet clinic, our Neuter Scooter’s dual function is that of a Medical Disaster Response Vehicle. After seeing the catastrophic events following Hurricane Katrina, the VBSPCA has been participating in disaster training and planning. The Neuter Scooter (both original and 2.0) will be able to assist the community in the event of a disaster in Hampton Roads.April 4/5 Eastersn Shore SPCA April 18/19April 4/5 Eastersn Shore SPCA April 20 Earth Day Festival at Mt.
