DOGS TRANSFERRED TO THE VIRGINIA BEACH SPCA FROM NORTH CAROLINA PUPPY MILL
VIRGINIA BEACH, VA- The Virginia Beach SPCA is honored that we were asked to assist in the care of more than 200 dogs seized from a puppy mill in North Carolina. The Virginia Beach SPCA is able to respond to crisis situations such as this because of the support of our donors, volunteers and members of the community.
The Virginia Beach SPCA brought back 22 dogs that are currently being evaluated for medical and behavior issues and will remain in quarantine until all evaluations have been completed. They will be available for adoption as they are ready and released by the authorities of North Carolina
People interested in adopting these animals should check www.vbspca.com often to see when these dogs will be available for adoption. Applications and holds will not be taken for specific breeds but the animals that will be released for adoption will be listed on the website. Adopters need to consider the special needs of these dogs and the possibility that they may require additional medical care, socialization and training. Adopters will go through the same adoption process as those adopting other animals in the shelter but there may be additional requirements.
The Virginia Beach SPCA welcomes any assistance from the community particularly monetary donations and supplies (towels, linens, toys) necessary to care for the animals. To make a donation please visit out website at www.vbspca.com/donate.
Please remember, there are other animals at the shelter just waiting for a new home that can be adopted immediately. Please come in to see if one of these animals would make the perfect addition to your family.
