The CARE Medical Fund
The CARE Medical Fund (Companion Animal Rehabilitation and Emergency Medical Fund) has been created to help the Virginia Beach SPCA provide specialized medical treatment for animals who would have once been considered untreatable by many shelters.
Joker, for example, was a stray who was found limping and clearly in pain. Our professional veterinary staff examined the adorable little dog and found that he had extensive fractures in his damaged leg. Staff repaired Joker's leg, setting it in a splint and providing the little dog with medication to relieve his pain. Joker is one of the many animals who have recently required specialized veterinary treatment made possible by the CARE Medical Fund. Without your continued support, animals like Joker would not receive the second chance they so deserve.

Bynx came to the VBSPCA as a three month old injured stray puppy.  He had fallen out of the back of a pickup truck, and required FHO (Femoral Head Ostectomy) surgery due to the injuries he had sustained.  He recuperated in a foster home until he was well enough to be adopted by a loving family just 3 weeks later.

Carmello, a five month old puppy, was relinquished to the VBSPCA because his owners could not afford the surgery he required to correct Cherry Eye.  His treatment would not be possible without continued support of the C.A.R.E. Medical Fund.
